Joyce A. Hurley, 75, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 4, 1935, in Tucson, Ariz., she was the daughter of William D. and Audrey (Shepard) Swazay.
Survivors include sons, Hobert (wife, Deb) Hurley Jr. and Jamie (wife, Melinda) Hurley, both of Shelbyville, Darren Hurley of Louisiana and David (wife, Tammy) Hurley of Franklin County; daughters, Patti Stafford and Vanessa (husband, Ronnie) Gibson, both of Shelbyville; brothers, Herschel Swazay and Harry Swazay, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Billie Thomas of Louisiana and Penny Kuhn of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and a daughter, Darla Hurley.
Mrs. Hurley was a homemaker and a volunteer at the Shelbyville Community Church food pantry, Angel Food Ministry and Sanctuary of Shelbyville.
She was an avid reader and an active mom and grandma in all activities.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Mary Popplewell officiating.
