Dear Family,

You have our sympathy.  One of my fondest memories of Aunt Bernice is when she taught me how to can green beans when I was in my early thirties.  She and Uncle Richard helped snap beans and stayed until we did two batches.  Uncle Richard read the boys (about 2 & 4 at the time) a nap time story, "A Very Bumpy Bus Ride."  As you might imagine Uncle Richard was very animated while he read.

May good memories give you comfort during this time of loss.

Love,

Lois & Bill

I wanted to offer my condolences to all who loved "Grandmother". That is the only name I have ever called her. The first time I met Grandmother was when she and Grandfather volunteered to help me decorate the reception hall when their grandson married my daughter. Did I appreciate their help! The memory that had the greatest impact on me, however, was the last time I saw her, Christmas Eve 2012. I told Grandmother how much I loved the Christmas painting she had just painted for my daughter, Kelly. Her reply, "I still have so much to learn!". I pray that I have that much desire to learn and do things when I am 94! May God bless each of you in the days ahead.

(John 5:28, 29) (28) Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (29) and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

Condolences to the family and friends of Bernice Lucille (Simmons) Tamplin from the Studebaker Family National Association (SFNA).  Bernice and husband Richard were long-time members of SFNA and "cousins" through Richard's mother Hazel Augusta Studebaker, 1893-1963.  Members of the Tamplin family could always be found among those attending Studebaker Family Gatherings held every five years in Tipp City, Ohio.  I learned of Bernice's passing from one of her grandsons yesterday during a chance encounter at a car show on General Motors property while displaying my 1962 Studebaker Lark.  An uncommon brand in metro-Detroit, my "Lady Lark" never fails to attract Studebaker aficionados and, occasionally, cousins!! -- SFNA Board member, Sandra A.
