Stross Family,
I am very saddened by the loss of Chuck.  Chuck was my manager/boss while I worked at Terra in Galesburg.  Chuck was a wonderful boss.  He always pushed us to be better, smarter, and to work harder.  I remember once when we were traveling a lot, I had mentioned how tired I was.  Chuck told me, "You can sleep when you pass away".  I'll always remember that, not because it seems harsh but because what Chuck meant was, get the most out of life and this opportunity.  I'll forever be grateful for getting the privledge to know Chuck.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  Lynda

My sympathy & prayers for the Stross family.  I had the pleasure of working for Chuck.  So many mornings began the same way, you’d ask him how he was & he’d say, “Never had a bad day in my life.”  The majority of us have individuals in our lives that were a major influence & Chuck was one of those for me.  He was not only my boss but a mentor.  He shared his knowledge & gave me many opportunities.  He expected nothing less than 110% but in a way you had no problem working within. There were times I was juggling more than I thought I could handle but he knew better.  Chuck will always hold a special place in my heart & will be truly missed.

I want to express my thoughts and prayers to Chuck's family at this time of sorrow. I knew Chuck through business relationships while at American Cyanamid and Monsanto. Chuck was a good business man, who was a strong supporter of his people. I admired his work ethic and commitment.
God Bless
