May God''s love and grace help you through this very difficult time.

Bernie and I had a great long term frienship that I will continue to cherish.
It''s been a long time since the "new" 5th and 6th grade teachers at Boscobel crossed lifes path -- man we had some great times!!!

Bernie''s suffering is finally over --- he is now at peace and finally home!!!!

It is with great saddness we learned of Bernie's passing.  Although in the grace of God he will be terrible missed by all.  I'll always remember his cheerful smile and postive attitude.  He always made me feel welcome.  I often referred to him and he will always be:  "The Man, The Myth, The Legend".....

Mon October 17, 2011 I met Bernie some 20 years ago.  I can say without a doubt he is as good a person and friend one could ever have.  I will miss him in a great way, but I'm all right with that because I will never forget him: "The Man, The Myth, The Legend"....My dear friend.

Tue October 18, 2011 Mary and girls-  We are so sorry for your loss.  Bernie will be missed by many.  He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Tue October 18, 2011 I met Bernie just a year ago through the Spiritual Direction Preparation Program in LaCrosse.  I was so impressed with his ability to reach out to others in need.  He was friendly and so ready to help. He didn't need to be asked; rather he sensed the needs of others.

Please know how sorry I am to hear the news of Bernie's death.  He and you are all in my prayers.

Although I only met Bernie twice, as a member of the Franciscan Spirituality Center class studying for spiritual director certification, he certainly made a deep impression on me and all of the class.  His faith and the strength of his character made him stand out.  We knew he was struggling, and he was not shy about asking for our prayers for his health.  But he did not ask for any favoritism or sympathy.  His deep desire to live, love his family, and become a spiritual director someday were unmistakable.  He loved you all so much.

I am so grateful to have met Bernie.  I will continue to pray for him and all of you.  Wishing you all God's blessings.
