William "Bill" D. Stockton, age 84 of Boscobel, passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at his home in Boscobel. He was born on January 24, 1934 in East Baton Rouge La.. The son of Harry and Jessie (Haskins) Stockton. He married Pauline (Welsh) Burns on April 8, 2014 in Tampa Fl. Bill was a retired Navy Veteran. Bill had a strong love for his country, especially if he saw a veteran, many times he would go over and start talking to his fellow serviceman. Bill, Husband, Dad, Stepdad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, Friend will be remembered for many reason. His love of music, how he taught and mentored others in such a kind and encouraging way. He loved singing and playing guitar with anyone that wanted to play with him, he played and sang down in Woodman in the Park, jammed with the neighbors, and played with his kids whenever he could and loved every minutes of it. We will miss his insanely dumb jokes, his once a Chief always a Chief theory, his perfectly groomed blue jeans, belt buckle and boots, the very well taken care of vehicles that were always washed and waxed to a beautiful shine, his love of the military, Bill was very proud of his time in service and carried those military ways throughout his life. We will forever miss the love he showed for all his family and the desire he had to take care of all of us and of coarse his tried and true saying "keep it under 80 as a wise man once said". These are only a few of the things we will remember and they will put a smile on the face of those of us remembering. He fought a brave battle like the Sailor he was. He will forever in our thought and hearts. Rest In Peace Chief William Stockton: Fair winds and following seas, wind at your back, eyes to the skies! for we have the watch.
