Barbara L. "Barb" O' Kane, age 72 of Boscobel, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home,  surround by her family.  She was born on February 10, 1945 in Boscobel.  The daughter of H. Meade and Izora (Fossnow) Arms.  She married Larry O' Kane on December 26, 1980 in Lancaster Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death on June 16, 1998.

Barb started her own business in 1989 of Superior Trophies and to which she added in the late nineties Superior Storage.  She started both of these business from the ground up into what are very successful businesses today.  She was always willing to help and accommodate anyones order-she always was there to please and help anyone she could.  Barb started the youth bowling program here in Boscobel 38 years ago.  She was an active bowler herself for 40 plus years.  She also enjoyed shooting pool on different women’s pool leagues around the area.  She implemented the Girl Scout progam in Boscobel in 1972.  She was also instrumental in starting the Head Start Program in 1968 here in Boscobel.  One of the biggest enjoyments she had was working the “Festival of Trees” for the Boscobel Community Christmas-the best part that she enjoyed was when the Boscobel Elementary School children came out to see the trees and watch their eyes light up-that is what it is all about.  She was always looking to help out or be active with so many different things-It was nothing for her to help out a young child who may have needed something-helping the youth was her passion.  Her family was very important to her which she cherished until the very end.  Barb was the citizen of the year in 2016 , among several awards she received the Chuck Yahn Memorial award from the Boscobel High School on June 4, 2006.

She is survived by her children: Crystal (Todd) Krachey of Wauzeka, Will (Lesley) O' Kane of Appleton, Trevor (Terri) O' Kane of Eastman. 10 Grandchildren: Steven M. (Ashley) McKillip, Brady T. Krachey, Dayne L. Krachey, Ian M.T. Riley, Destiny N. Riley, Emery L. Patten, Jacob B. O' Kane, Hannah L. O' Kane, Brett P. O' Kane, Evan D. O' Kane. Two great-grandsons: Jason M. Kvamme, Carter S. McKillip. One sister Mary Jo (Allen) Curtis of Boscobel. also many nieces and nephews, and other family members, along with a host of friends. l She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Michael Staskal, a sister Kathy McClimans, a brother  Charles Arms, and an  infant sister  Janice Arms.
