Lawrence E. Rider, age 87 of Boscobel, passed away on Thursday March 23, 2017 at Gundersen Hospital in Lacrosse. He was born on May 26, 1929 in Wauzeka Wisconsin. The son of Earl and Mary (Flesch) Rider. He married Ellen Blake on November 5, 1948 at the First Congregational Church in Boscobel. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2002. He is survived by two sons: Gerald (Connie) Rider of Dodgeville, Randy Rider of Highland. Four daughters; Connie ( Glen) Silvers of Mineral Point, Diane (David) Hines of Boscobel, Evelyn Rider of Madison, Mary (Larry) Mook of Fennimore. 13 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren 1 Great-Great-Grandson. Two brothers Wayne Rider and Maggie of Montfort, Rick Rider and Nancy Beechey both of Patch Grove. Three sisters; Helen Schmelz of Cedar Rapids Ia., Loretta Waltz of Fennimore, Maxine Wall of Eastman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, a daughter Joyce Pease .one brother Jerome Rider. Two sisters; Lavon Gebhard, Leona Stagman. Two Grandchildren: Kristi Hines, Zackary Rider.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 27, 2017 at 11:00 A.M at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Bill Rettig officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday March 26, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel and also on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Boscobel Rescue Squad or the Boscobel Fire Department. Online condolences can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com

WE ARE SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE UNCLES. I HAVE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF THE SUMMERS I SPENT AT THE FARM. HE WILL BE MISSED BY US ALL. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Sorry to hear Lawrence passed. I have lots of memories of unloading milk from his milk truck at the Mid-Am cheese factory, and having good conversations while he waited. He was always kind. Will miss him.
