Arnold J. Swenson, age 85 of rural Boscobel, passed away on Monday December 12, 2016 at Gundersen Hospital in Boscobel. He was born on January 8, 1931 in Boscobel. The son of Harvey and Vivian (Kast) Swenson. He married Kay McCullick on April 8, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Zion. She preceded him in death on July 25, 20014. He is survived by a daughter Susan Speth of Belmont and friend Justin Olthafer of Platteville. Five sons Greg Swenson of Boscobel, Donald Swenson and Susan Goodman both of Boscobel, Robert Swenson of Blue River, Dennis Swenson and Michele Hartwig both of Boscobel, John (Sherri) Swenson of Mt. Zion. 14 Grandchildren 6 Great-Grandchildren. One brother Keith (Gloria) Swenson of Mt. Zion. One sister Maxine (Virgil) Ritchie of Boscobel. He was preceded in death by his parents along with a daughter Karen Schuppener.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. Pastor Mary Ann Floreke officiating. Burial in the Homer Cemetery rural Boscobel. Friends may call on Friday December 16, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel, and also at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake Semrad American Legion Post #134 and the Gilbertson- Pitzer- Radly VFW Post #10393 both of Boscobel. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred . My sincere sympathies to the family on his untimely death. Arnold was a classmate of mine. I was born and raised just 2 miles down the road from Arnold. I am the the daughter of Ed and Lena Rasque. My brother Donald was a very good friend of his brother Keith. May he rest in peace

Ruth and I were so sorry to hear about Arnold.
Unfortunately, neither of us are mobile, so we can't get to Boscobel in this weather.
