I graduated in Clear Lake with your dad. His nick name in school was Cougar. When he used to sign his name in school he would put a cougar paw beside his name. I never knew of his illness but that doesn''t surprise me because he never complained.
I''m sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Shelby - I worked with your Dad at Crawford County Human Services. Our offices were near each other and we had some good chats through the years. I always loved his sense of humor (and his laugh) and his often offbeat point-of-view. I know that he went through a lot in his life and I always admired how he seldom complained and just rolled with whatever came his way. It seems so unfair that he was handed so much to deal with. Please know that in his work as a social worker your Dad helped many people deal with their adversities and they loved and respected him for not judging them or the choices that they made. That is what I will most remember Greg for, how he accepted people for who they were, with no strings attached.
I will never forget how very happy and thrilled he was when you were born. He loved being a father and you were certainly his Sunshine. He loved you so much and was so very proud of you and everything that you have accomplished. I hope that your Dad's love and the good memories that you have will give you strength to keep moving forward and accomplish whatever dreams you have for your future. I know that your Dad will always be with you and you will continue to make him proud.
I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family.
