Avis V. Rice, age 95, of Boscobel, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at her home in Boscobel, surrounded by her family. She was born May 23, 1923 in Crawford County Wisconsin. The daughter of Geroge and Veda (Chitwood) Miller. She married Emil Loether on January 10, 1941 in Waukon Ia. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1947. She married William Robinson on June 13, 1957, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Ia., he preceded her in death on May 13, 1979. She married Anson Rice Jr. on December 7, 1984 in Wauzeka, he preceded her in death on July 4, 1989. Special friend Edward Strand preceded her in death on March 12, 2014 . She is survived by one son: Emil "Butch" (Nancy) Loether of Pardeeville. Three daughters: Judy Brodel of Kingsland Ga., Ilene Hammond of Jacksonville Fl., Carol Maag of Prairie du Chien. A step daughter: Eleanor DeBoer of Boscobel. 19 Grandchildren 52 Great-Grandchildren 40 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters: Alma Stanley, Margaret Gobin, Elva Jones, Mattie Dilley. One brother Olin Miller, along with an infant son and infant daughter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. Pastor Stan Pegram officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday December 3, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. In lieu flowers memorials can be made to Crossing Rivers Hospice in Prairie du Chien. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.
