Virgil A. Anderson, age 91, of Boscobel passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016.  He was born on December 12, 1924 to the late Albert and Minnie (Schoellig) Anderson.  Virgil married Millicent Kreul on October 27, 1952 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore, and they were married for over 50 years before she passed away in 2004.  He ran the family farm for many years and later worked as a bookkeeper at Turner Construction.  Virgil went on to work at Boscobel State Bank as a property appraiser and also worked as a land assessor.  He loved spending time in nature by gardening, hunting, and fishing.  One of Virgil’s true passions was visiting and spending time with his friends and family, and he will be missed dearly by those that knew him.      

Virgil is survived by his son David Anderson; brother-in-law Donald (Barb) Kreul; and sisters-in-law Sharon Anderson and Shirley Kreul.  He was preceded in death by his wife Millicent Anderson; brother Richard Anderson; sister-in-law Charlotte Kreul; and brother-in-law Carrol Kreul.

Visitation for Virgil will be held at the Kendall Funeral Home, 209 Mary Street, Boscobel on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service for Virgil will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 208 Mary Street, Boscobel with Rev. Charles Koester officiating.  An additional time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.  Virgil will be laid to rest at the Boscobel Cemetery.

Virgil was a kind man who was a friend to all.
