Robert "Bob" "Zeke" L. Boebel, age 95 of Fox Lake and formally of Boscobel, passed away on Sunday November 2, 2014 at the Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. He was born on March 4, 1919 in Marion Township Grant County Wisconsin.  The son of Charles  and Christina (Frey) Boebel. He married Catherine Glynn on August 18, 1945 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2010.​ Robert was originally commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps, served in the 8th Bomber Command during WWII as co-pilot for a B-24 Liberator. He was shot down on April 8th 1944 on his 4th mission over Germany and  spent 14 months in a prison camp in Barth​ ​. He continued in the Reserve Air Force after the war attaing the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His personal awards included the Purple Heart, POW and Air Medal.​He is survived by three daughters Connie Boebel of Nashville Tenn., Kris (Russell) Schroeder of Horicon , Cathy (Norbert) Hanson of Horicon.  Five grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren. One brother Lyle (Judy) Boebel of Marion Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his parents, along with infant twins John and Sandra Boebel. Two brothers Charles and Harry Sr. Boebel. One sister Kathryn Tetrick.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Father Peter Auer officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion post 134 and the Gilbertson- Pitzer VFW Post 10393 both of Boscobel, along with the Patriot Riders of
Wisconsin.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Hillside manor in Beaver Dam or the Patriot Riders of Wisconsin. On line condolence can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com
