Boscobel- Erwin H. Thingvold, age 77, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Bland Bekkedal Hospice Center in Viroqua.

He was born on June 30, 1937 in Five Points, the son of Harlan and Evelyn (Zimpel) Thingvold. He was married to Shelby Zajicek on February 21, 1959. He farmed for many years, worked for Wick Homes, and was an independent carpenter for many years.  Erv was and avid hunter and a Brewers, Badgers and Packers fan.

Erv is survived by his wife Shelby, three daughters Jean (Mike) McDaniel, Jane Hackett  and Sue (Dave) Gardner all of Boscobel. Three grandchildren Jeremy McDaniel,Malena (Jake) Knowles all of Boscobel, and Garrett Gardner of Madison. A sister Marsha (Dennis) Devine of Ferryville. His Godchild Amy (Zajicek) Lenartowski of Lake Mills . One Aunt Alice (Bill) Honer of Boaz. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Cre (Gordie) Peaslee, Betty Zajicek, Shirley (Harry) Kurowski, Blanche Randall and on brother in law Mason (Carol) Zajicek. He is also survived by many other close relatives and friends and also a faithful cat Lucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Evelyn Thingvold, his father-in-law and mother in law Edward and Edith Zajicek and one brother in law Harley Zajicek .

The family would like to thank the staff at Bland Bekkedal Hospice Center for all their special care.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. Pastor Charles Koester officiating . Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Bland Bekkedal Hospice Center in Viroqua or St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. On line condolence can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com
