Virginia N. McDowell, age 91 of Boscobel, passed away on Saturday June 30, 2012 at Boscobel Care and Rehab. She was born on February 17, 1921 in Monte Vista Colorado. The daughter of Peter and Amy (Phillips) Kessler. She married Ronald McDowell on June 28, 1945 in Petaluma California. He preceded her in death on October 3 1981. Virginia worked at the Boscobel Area Health Care as a radiology technician for several years. She was also a WWII Army Veteran. She is survived by a daughter Janet (Paul) Beck of Boscobel, Two sons; Ronald McDowell Jr. of Morgantown W. Virginia, Michael McDowell of Boscobel. A brother Ernest Kessler of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Jen Johnson officiating. Burial in the Haney Ridge Cemetery Haney Township Crawford County Wisconsin. Friends may call on Thursday July 5, 20112 from 9:00 A.M. until time of Service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Boscobel Care and Rehab. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post #134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer VFW Post #10393 graveside both of Boscobel. I always enjoyed caring for Virginia, she was always such a pleasant lady. Janet and Paul were very caring and helpful bringing her to my office. She will be missed-

I worked with Virginia for many years at Boscobel Area Health Care. She was a very caring individual and a hard worker. I enjoyed listening to her tales of the "old days". My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. I will surely miss that sparkle in her eye and beautiful smile.
