Please accept my condolences. I know you've lost your best friend but he had to be suffering especially by the end. Now he's at peace and free of pain. Remember that as you cry for him and mourn your loss. Be strong and trust God that you will see him again along with your Mom and Dad. Judy and Eve |

Posted by: Bob Creveling Mon October 06, 2014 | Gloria, Please accept my condolences on the passing of Joel. I will always be grateful for the mentoring and guidance he gave me when I started in PSEA. He was truly a "trailblazer" in our profession. |
Posted by: Butch Santicola Mon October 06, 2014 | Joel -- what memories I have of him not only as a representative with a creative mind but as a friend. Memories of the many times playing cards and enjoying his company. I especially cherish the time Joel sent a check (for money he lost in a card game) to my wife stating that "this check was his monthly contribution to her happiness." One thing I did not read in the obituary was Joel's service as the PSEA SO President in the early 70's. Joel helped build the foundation of representation and advocacy for union staff. Many thanks Joel!! May you rest in peace. |

Posted by: John Brunette Tue October 07, 2014 | Joel was such a pleasant person. It was always a joyful experience to be with him no matter what the circumstances. Quick of wit, he never made jokes about people but rather with them. He was truly an innovator for the profession and believed that responsibility for doing good work far outweighed any sense of entitlement.
He was a leader by example who folks followed because they knew he was always on their side. God’s speed my friend. Gloria, we have all lost someone we loved. |
Posted by: Don Morabito Tue October 07, 2014 | My deepest sympathy. He was a pioneer in our work - every school employee has lost a good friend. I want to add that he had a warm sense of humor - his work will last for a long time. |
