Posted by: Seth Gunnet Wed February 19, 2020 | I work at one of the Rutters Daniel delivered to. I’m a senior in high school so I do 3rd shift only on the weekends, and seeing Dan was 100% the highlight of the grueling shifts. He was a character for sure and someone I can never forget. He’d always come in, with his little dolly, usually singing along with something, stop at the doorway, then just look my way and tell me to get to work, sometimes he’d even apologize to the customer in a joking way about me taking so long regardless of if they had just ordered or not. His smile always had me laughing, because it usually brought a slick comment along with it. I was in complete disbelief when the cashier broke the news, And even shed a few tears in the back. I would like to send my Condolences to his parents, his wife, and everyone else he loved and held dearly. Sitting here in tears, I’ll never forget the last time I saw Dan, stopping in the doorway, turning to me and telling me to be safe and that he’ll see me next weekend. My prayers are with you guys. |
