Many fond memories of your Mom & Dad and the times together down on Harlem Hill off Stoney Creek.  I can hear your Dad's infectious laughter as I write.

There are so many joyful memories:

Visiting the Bass's at Christmas, sledding down the dirt road behind your house after a big snow, crabbing off-the-pier, watching the boats go by from your back porch, watching cars cross the bridge listening to the whine of the tires as they rolled across the steel grate of the drawbridge, the excitement of the screaming ghost that flew down from the 2nd floor window when we came trick-or-treating at Halloween, July 4th firecrackers, the laughter, the music & the steamed crabs at the joining together of the Bass's, Murphy's, Cadden's and Quigley's every summer sitting under the willow tree in your front yard...  and of course wonderful memories of your mother and her gentle spirit.(Especially the day she patched up the Quigley Boys after a high speed crash of an overloaded bike at the bottom of Harlem Hill where we learned what serious road-rash felt and looked like - Ouch, that one still hurts when I think about it.)

Wishing you all Peace & Joy as you reflect on your Dad's life.

My thoughts and prayers are with you this weekend.  I am so sorry that I will not be able to join you from NC.

Sat June 02, 2012 I just learned of Uncle John's passing and was saddened to hear of his death.  Trish and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Bass family and will keep you in thought and prayer during this difficult time.

Tue June 05, 2012 My dear Uncle John, you had such a wonderful way about yourself. Your funny faces you always made, your natural smile and laughter were so inviting.  We will truly miss you, but we know you are finally home now with Aunt Jerry and we celebrate your life.  Will always keep your memories in my heart.
