Her light shines yet and ever; Her zest and warmth abide, As we, inspired, endeavor To emulate each stride. Named not for the flower: The Iris takes her name, A gift of nature's bower, Our friend, our joy, our flame. |
Posted by: Janet Ambrose Sat June 24, 2017 | I first met Iris a few years ago when I went to the Pasadena Senior Center to learn bridge. Newly retired and a novice, I was anxious to succeed. Iris was very welcoming and always encouraging. She gave freely of herself and her time and would come "Brownies" in hand, to instruct and nourish us. Iris became a mentor and friend to many of us. I will always remember her words and her spirit.
So, to Iris, a beautiful soul both inside and out, may you rest peacefully and lovingly in the hands of the Lord, whom you most fervently praised. To her husband and family, my deepest sympathy for the loss of one so special, vibrant and loved. |
Posted by: Will Williams Wed June 28, 2017 | Our deepest sympathy to Iris's family. She was a very special lady. We met her playing in many bridge tournaments for the pat 15 years. She was always very gracious, friendly and made you feel good about yourself with her friendly smiles and wit. She will be missed by all of those who had the opportunity of knowing her.
