Aunt Geraldine was a wonderful loving caring kind lady.  She would write me letters when I was in Guatemala and keep me posted on all of the family news.  Her quiet gentle spirit was evident to all of her friends and neighbors.  I remember how she bravely suffered so many losses, the death of her oldest daughter, Arlene, then he husband , then her son, Leland.  But her faith in the Lord was evident , and her compassion for others as they suffered was so helpful!  My prayers are with Margie and all the rest of the family!
Love,
Yvonne Helton Bruce

Though I am a distant, shoe-string, kind-of-relative, Grandma Long was special to me and made an impact on my life in good ways.  Her daughter Arlene was my step-dad's (John Spickard) first wife.  John married my mother, Joyce Slaughter, when I was 8 years old.  Grandma & Grandpa Long lived close in Trenton so I saw them quite a bit and never felt any sense of unacceptance toward me, I was just George's brother.  They were my first introduction to horses and "cowboy" life.  She introduced me to pan fried chicken and biscuits & gravy (which my Dutch wife has picked up and does a great job).  The Long family was the closest relatives to me and always welcomed me, of which I am very grateful.  Thank you, Grandma, for loving me and my mom through good times and bad.

I have fond memories of Aunt Geraldine. My siblings and I spent many of times at her home. As many have stated she was a gentle natured women and a very loving person. I remember going with her and my mom to California to Ross and Lynn's wedding by plane. It was an adventure.
Life goes to fast! Thank God for letting us share life with her.
Marjorie and family I know this is a loss, hugs and love from your cousin.

Aunt Geraldine was my father´s only sister whom I loved dearly. She was always happy to have my sister, Janet, stay at her home.  loved it that her home was orderly. it was always so easy to find something when she ask me to get it.
She was patient with me and took time to talk to me and listened to my troubles.

Aunt Geraldine taught me things like how to sleep at night without a light and to drink tea without sugar. She and her childen would play games with me and we laughed a lot.

When I saw her in 2014 I was able to give her onelast hug and a kiss on the cheek. I am so glad that she is now in the loving hands of God. She is certainly one of his specal angels.
