He attended country schools and later graduated from Trenton High School in 1955. He was married to Sandra Bankson and had three children. In 1982, he married his current wife, Shirley Stephens Dockery.  Harold worked as a journeyman lineman for Rural Electric Cooperative, Missouri Public Service, Aquila, and the local farm services agency, as well as many area farmers. He was a cattle farmer and even though he moved to Trenton a number of years ago, he still enjoyed farming.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, as well as the Rural Dale Baptist Church.
Mr. Dockery is survived by his wife Shirley Dockery of the home; a daughter, Terri Henderson and her husband, David of Trenton; 2 sons, Ray Dockery and his wife, Nina of  Cameron, MO and Steve Dockery and his wife, Julie of Shawnee, KS; a step-daughter, Janice Wynn of Trenton, MO; a step-son, James Curtis of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Irma Lee Shanks (John) and Susie Walker (Vic) both of Trenton, MO;  6 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceding in death by two sisters, Wanda Harris and Roberta Akers. The late Charley Brinser was his step father.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation or Shelburne Cemetery; they can be left at or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO  64683.

Shirley,
I''m so sorry for your loss. You have my deepest condolences and I wish I could be there in person to express them. I only got to meet Harold a handful of times but hearing your stories about him, I know how much you miss him and what a good man he was. You are one of the strongest people I know but I''ll keep you in my prayers- both of you.

Ray we are sorry to hear of the sudden passing of your dad. It makes one stop and give thanks for where we are today because we don''t have any assurance of tomorrow. He was only a couple years older than I, kind of makes you realize life moves on.

We are so sorry about the passing of your precious loved one. We remember him as a hard working man who did a "great job" no matter what the job was. We remember him as being there to help out when Ray & Nina farmed my parents, the Spencers, ground. Know that we care and you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
