Jimmie Dean Hicks, a 75 year-old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on December 27th , 2018, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Graveside services will be held at South Point Cemetary in Orrick, MO on Saturday, December 29th at 1pm. The family will meet guests following the graveside service, at the Orrick Christian Church. A family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at Resthaven Funeral Home in Trenton, MO.
He was born April 5, 1943 in Orrick, MO to Wilbur and Billie (Vandiver) Hicks.  He was a 1961 graduate of Orrick High School and attended the University of Missouri. Jim and his parents moved to Trenton in 1964 to operate Lakeview Restaurant.  He served in the US Marine Corps Reserves for six years and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. He farmed most his life in Grundy and Livingston counties before retiring in 2001 due to failing health.
Jim married Venna (Trump) Hicks on October 30, 1964, in Trenton, MO, she survives of the home.  Other survivors include;  son, James Hicks and wife (Stephanie) of Lee's Summit, MO, daughter, Jill and husband (Chad) Reeter of Trenton, MO, and son, Billy Hicks of Kansas City, MO. Three grandchildren; Steven Hicks of Lee's Summit, MO, Seth and Jenna Reeter of Trenton, MO.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Gail Jane Hicks, who died in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to South Point Cemetary in Orrick, MO, North Central Missouri Fair in Trenton, MO or Green Hills Animal Shelter in Trenton, MO.

I’m sorry and saddened to hear this. Jim was so good to me when I was growing up. I will never forget him or his kindness. May you Rest In Peace Jim...you will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear of Jim's passing. We were classmates for many years and he was such a "stand up" guy. He will be missed by friends and family alike. I know he was blessed to have Venna by his side. Jim, rest in peace.
