Billy O’Banion, a 68 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 3:41 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Luke’s North in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. His body is to be cremated following the services. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Joseph L. Norton V.F.W. Post 919 and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Billy Rex O’Banion was born July 19, 1950 in Princeton, MO to Phyllis O’Banion. He graduated from Princeton High School. Billy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart for two separate injuries. For 30 years he worked at Trenton Foods where he was supervisor for the chilli line. On June 11, 2007 he was united in marriage to Sharon Stramble in Trenton. They enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets in their spare time.
Surviving relatives include his wife Sharon of the home, son Billy O’Banion Jr. of Trenton, daughters Christy Childs and husband Charlie of Chillicothe, MO and Sherry Williams and husband Randy of Utica, MO, step children, Stephanie Sullivan of Trenton, Don Markley of Sedalia, MO, Bud Moulding of Downs, KS, and Karma Moulding and significant other Brian of Independence, MO, brother Rick Clark and wife Carolyn of St. Joseph, MO, sisters Elizabeth King and husband Rex of Dewitt, IA and Deanna Kilburg and husband Jay of McCallen, TX, seven grandchildren, eight grandstep children, two great grandchildren, and 14 step great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his mother Phyllis Clark, father Lafayette “Buck” Clark and a brother Dennis Whipple.
