Dr. George Allen Klinginsmith, a former Trenton, Missouri, resident, died at 8:07 PM on March 6, 2018 at his home in Chillicothe, MO.  He was 83 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Huffstutter) Klinginsmith of the home; his daughter, Teresa Smith, of Chillicothe, two grandsons, Second Lieutenant Joshua Allen Smith and his wife, Tamra, of Knob Noster, MO and their children, Isabella LeAnn and Nicholas Allen Smith and Mitchell Eugene Smith and his wife, Natalie, of Springfield, MO.  He is also survived by one brother, Tom Klinginsmith and his wife, Mary, of Trenton, MO and a sister, Ruah Jane Gibson and her husband, Gib, of Sugar Land, TX; two sister-in-law’s, Glendola Klinginsmith and Zella Whitney of Trenton, MO.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dr. Klinginsmith was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel, Charles, Robert, and Raymond Klinginsmith, and three infant children, Samuel Wayne, Debra Kay, and Twila Jane.

Dr. George was born in Unionville, MO October 10, 1934, the son of Doctors Charles and Ruah (Channell) Klinginsmith.  On October 9, 1952, George enlisted in the Naval Reserves and served his country until October 9, 1960.  On June 30, 1956 he was united in marriage to Judy Huffstutter in Kansas City, KS.  In May 1959, George graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO.  Caring for others was his pleasure until his last days.  Before retirement in 2012, he held offices for Missouri State Chiropractic Association.  Dr. Klinginsmith was a member and served as an Elder with the Trenton Church of Christ.  In addition to his dedication to his patients and family, he enjoyed researching genealogy, traveling the world, organizing family reunions, and playing games with his family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  A visitation is scheduled from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Jewett Norris Library Genealogy Department.

Teresa, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Donna and I are attending a wedding this weekend and won't be able to stop by the funeral home. We are thinking of you and praying for your family. We look forward to seeing your Dad again one day.
