Richard Eugene Callen an 80 year old Princeton, MO resident passed away in his home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:20 p.m., in Princeton, MO where he was under Harrison County Hospice care.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church in Princeton. There will be a scheduled visitation held an hour before the service. His body is to be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and may be left with or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary at 813 Custer, Trenton, MO.
Richard Eugene Callen was born on June 30, 1937 to Richard and Helen Rae (Black) Callen, in Princeton, MO. He graduated from Princeton High school class of 1955. On September 7, 1960 Richard enlisted into the United States army, and served at Ft. Bliss Texas until his discharge on September 6, 1962. Richard was married to Mary Louise (Hubler) on January 2, 1961 at the First Baptist church in Princeton. The couple made their home in Princeton until 1974 when they moved to Marshall, MO. He worked in construction and was golf course superintendent until 2005, when they retired back to Princeton. Richard’s hobbies included church and being with his family, golfing, playing pool, and driving his ’53 Chevrolet. He found his faith in the lord in 2004 and was a member of New Hope Baptist church since 2013.
Richard is survived by His wife Mary Callen, of Princeton, MO. A Daughter Kim Rowlette of Lee’s Summit, two sisters Puddy Hart and her husband, John of Princeton and Linda Cooksey of Trenton, MO. Four grandchildren Andrew Rowlette and wife Crystal of Abilene, TX, Jason Rowlette and wife Holly of Lee’s Summit, MO, Samantha Lang and husband Fred of Cole Camp, MO, and Cory Rowlette of Sedalia, MO, Five great grandchildren Richland Grace Rowlette, Cade Rowlette, Lyndsay Rowlette, Josie Lang, and Landon Lang.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law Ed Rowlette, and a brother-in-law, Robert Cooksey.
