May Helen Danks, 91, of Trenton, died at 5:20 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. She was born on July 9, 1926 in Memphis Tennessee to J.W. and Audie Mae Crutcher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Harry Danks, three brothers, Joe Crutcher Jr., Robert Crutcher, Marvin Crutcher, one sister Virginia Hill, a daughter in-law Nora Faye Woodside Danks and a grandson Josh Clark. She is survived by two sons, Larry Danks and wife Mary Pat of Kerrville, TX and John Danks of Galt, four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren as well as nephews and nieces.
Helen attended Frayser Grammar School in Memphis, TN and graduated from Millington High School in Millington, TN. She was a member of Rural Dale Baptist Church. She was employed for several years at the Cook & Vencill Bank in Galt. She was a counselor for the Galt Baptist GA’s. Her love for music was evident as she sang with the Missouri Music Women and the Melody Makers Chapter of the Sweet Adelines. She traveled with the Missouri Festival Singers to both England and Europe to present concerts.
Services for Helen Danks will be held at Rural Dale Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Burial will be in the Rural Dale Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rural Dale Baptist Church Building Fund.
