Dixie Southers, a 76 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 2:01 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at St Luke’s Hospital North.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in Coon Creek Cemetery. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dixie was born on September 25, 1941 in Kirksville, MO the daughter of Kern and Blanche Irene (Cross) Pettit. She graduated from Kirksville High School. She was a dietary supervisor at Eastview Manor. She was a member of the Coon Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Browning and her husband, Jason of Trenton, MO, Rhonda Elbert and her husband, Travis of Trenton, MO; and Jerri Hoselton of Trenton, MO; one brother, Butch Pettit and his wife, Patty of Kirksville, MO; and four grandchildren, Truman, Noah, and Ian Elbert; and Samantha Hoselton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Lovestead; a brother, Robert Pettit; and two sisters, Dorothy Graham and Lola Graham.
