Lorene Bridges, a 76 year old Edinburg resident passed away at 4:15 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Liberty Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Edinburg Baptist Church in Edinburg.  Burial will follow in the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Monday evening at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.  Open visitation will begin at 9:00 Monday morning.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Lorene Helen Bridges was born September 28, 1941 in Rural Mt. Moriah, MO in Harrison County to Elgin Burl and Docia Helen (Harper) Woodward.    

She grew up 6 miles west of Mt. Moriah and attended Fairview Country School and the Mt. Moriah High School.  

On November 10, 1957 she was united in marriage to Donald Bridges in Albany, MO.  Don and Lorene moved to Grundy County in 1958.  She spent most of their marriage as a homemaker, but also enjoyed her time at Ace Hardware, Brown’s Shoe Fit in downtown Trenton and being a member of the Edinburg Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives include her husband Donald of the home, son Steve Bridges of Corpus Christi, TX, a sister Marilyn Bain and husband Jack of Trenton, a granddaughter Amanda Cavin, and great grandchildren Ryan Keuhn, Michael Cavin and Alex Zimmer.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Elgin Burl, Docia and brother Lee Woodward.
