Bonnie Jo Thompson, 80, of Trenton, passed away at 1:45 am., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Eastview Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Open visitation and viewing will be all day Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ridgeway, MO.

She was born on October 13, 1936 in Gilman City, MO the daughter of Floyd and Mattie (Harrison) Nighthart. She graduated Trenton High School in 1954. She was married Stan Peery on December 18, 1953 until 1975. She married Bobbie Thompson on June 4, 1977; he preceded her in death in July, 2001. They lived in Bethany, MO for several years, operating Skate Country Roller Rink before moving to Jamesport, MO. She and Bobbie operated the Amish Country Bus Tour in Jamesport. She formerly attended Jamesport Baptist Church and then the Trenton First Baptist Church in her later years.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Kent Peery and his wife, Lauri of Booneville, MO and Tim Peery and his wife, Irene of Kansas City, MO; 3 step sons, David Thompson and his wife, Ronilu of St Joseph, MO, Dan Thompson and his wife, Monell of Houston, TX, and Dennis Thompson of St Joseph, MO; a sister, Sara JeNiene Towns of Trenton, MO; a niece, Tonda Ransdell and her husband, Mike of Trenton, MO; a nephew Mark Towns and his wife, Rhonda of Spickard, MO; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Truly Bonnie was one the finest people I ever met. Through her hardships she did her best to look at the bright side of life. She was a hero of mine who I will always cherish. May God's blessing be on her family.

I met Bonnie back in the early 60's. Have always admired her. She was quite a spunky lady. So sorry for your loss.
