Zula Mae Irvin, an 89 year old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at 11:59 p.m. on May 24, 2017 at Eastview Manor in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home. Open visitation and viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Jamesport Masonic Cemetery in Jamesport, MO.
Zula Mae (Curtis) Irvin was born January 30, 1928. She married Laverne (J.L.) Irvin on May 12, 1943. She and her husband owned and operated the general store and Irvin Oil Company at Hickory, MO, southwest of Trenton, for 53 years. Zula resided in her home at 307 Linn Street, Trenton, MO with her grandson, Stephen Graves, until she entered the nursing home in Trenton.
Zula is survived by one daughter, Marcia Shepherd, Hampton, VA; and a brother, Danny Curtis, Trenton, MO; she is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Irvin; daughter, Margaret Irvin Stuart; and parents Rex and Clara Curtis.
Family expresses gratitude to Betty Blattner for her many acts of kindness, and friendship to Zula during her last months of declining health. The family also wishes to thank pastor and friend, Richard Key for his visits. Finally, we are especially grateful to Mike Spears who provided Power of Attorney and numerous helpful and essential services for Zula and the family.
