Max Hamby a 90 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 3:10 p.m., Monday, January 03, 2011 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Open visitation will begin after 8:30 AM Wednesday. There is no family visitation planned. Burial will follow in the Willis Chapel Cemetery located north of Brimson, MO.

Mr. Hamby was born on February 6, 1920 at Brimson the son of Herbert B. and Martha Boon Hamby. He was raised and attended school at Brimson and after school he went to California to work for two years before he was drafted into the Army Air Force. After his discharge he returned to Brimson. He was married to Deva Bulyar in 1948 at Clinton, Arkansas. They farmed all their married lives in the Brimson community.

Surviving relatives include his wife Deva Hamby of the home in Trenton, MO; a son, Rex Hamby and his wife Betty of Brimson, MO; a daughter Janet Brown and her husband Darrell of Trenton; 4 grandchildren, Drake and Jake Brown and Natalie Kilman and Brandon Hamby; 4 great-grandchildren, Corda and Emma Brown and Lauren Fastenau and McKenzy Kilman.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl Rose; a sister, Sylvia Davidson and two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Hamby.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to the Willis Chapel Cemetery.
