Merrill Dewain Callihan, 83, passed away at 2:25 PM on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at South Evans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the South Evans Cemetery.
Merrill was born on April 13, 1933 in Sullivan County, Missouri to Noel and Edith (Cutsinger) Callihan. After graduating from Humphreys High School he joined the Army and fought in the Korean War. On September 9, 1962, he was united in marriage to Twila Marie Williams at the Alpha Baptist Church. Twila preceded him in death on October 23, 2015. Merrill and Twila farmed and sold insurance and real estate in the Humphreys community for many years before moving to Trenton in 2011.
Merrill is survived by his daughter, Lisa Fisher and husband Jeremy of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Kira and Brenin Fisher of St. Joseph, MO; and nephew, Kevin Callihan of Humphreys, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Twila, and a brother, Paul Callihan.
