Deloris Lopes, a 73 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 10:18 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Luke’s East in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery near Osgood, MO. A visitation will be from 1:00 until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to either the Food Pantry or Campground Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Stella Deloris Lopes was born May 21, 1943 in Sullivan County, MO to Louden and Edith (Pierce) Humphreys. She graduated from Trenton High School before attending classes at Trenton Junior College and then receiving her L.P.N. from Vocational Board of Education of Kansas City. She worked at Wright Memorial Hospital following graduation, for many years. She married and moved to Hawaii, where she worked for Pearlridge Hospital. Deloris then moved back to Trenton in 1982, returning to Wright Memorial Hospital until 1998. Mrs. Lopes was on the Green Hills Action agency Advisory Board for many years as well as the Oats and Food Pantry Boards.
Surviving relatives include her step-son Ray Lopes and his wife Allison of Milinani, HI, a step daughter Debbie Lopes of Wainaei, HI, and step grandchildren Aulani and Alakai Lopes and Alvin Dunston Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Delores was a cousin of mine and although we didn't see much of each other, I went to the hospital on Thursday and visited with her before she passed. Life is so short, we must make the most of every day. Rest in peace Delores with Aunt Edith and Uncle Louden.
