Albert Cloyde “Barney” Hamilton, a 77 year old Modena, MO resident, passed away early Monday morning December 20, 2010, where his family was by his side.

The body was cremated.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Modena Baptist Church.  A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hamilton was born on December 2, 1933 in Grundy County, MO the son of Joe and Inez Bain Hamilton. He was married to Marilyn Brod on June 5, 1954 at Princeton, MO. They had farmed all their lives in the Modena community.

He was a member of the Modena Baptist Church and had served on the township board for many years.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hamilton of Modena, MO; one son, Tim Hamilton of  Modena, MO; two daughters,  Melissa (Kenneth) Wilson of Smithville, MO and Lora (John) Swan of Savannah, MO; three brothers, J.R. “Huck” Hamilton and Robert Lee “Bob” Hamilton both of Modena, MO, and Kenneth “Scobe” Hamilton of Princeton, MO; five sisters, Rosemary Cudney and Joann Brodie both of Trenton, MO, Colleen Torrey and Nadine Elliott both of Spickard, MO and Deleta Johnson of Princeton, MO; 4 grandchildren, Rebecca (Dan) Bounds, Jacob Hamilton, Justin Wilson and Desirae Swan; 2 great-granddaughters,  Maddy and Emily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Howard “Tom” Hamilton.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to the Hamilton Cemetery. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O.Box 587, Trenton, M O 64683.
