Gilbert Hughes, a 65 year old resident of Trenton, MO passed away at 4:33 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the K.U. Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Coon Creek Cemetery. No scheduled visitation, open viewing will be all day Wednesday.
Mr. Hughes was born on November 23, 1950 in Brimson, MO the son of Samp and Lula (Walker) Hughs.
He is survived by his companion, Joyce Frazier of the home; 2 sons, Gilbert Hughs Jr. and his wife, DeeAnn of Liberty, MO and Michael Hughs of Trenton, MO; 3 daughters, Anita Hughs and her companion, Jay Stiner of Spickard, MO, Joann Waldroop and her husband, Corey of Cabot, AR, and Christian Wattenbarger and her husband, Daniel of Brookfield, MO; a step son, Clinton Frazier of Spickard, MO; a step daughter, Tabatha Hill and her husband, J.J. of Lawson, MO; 2 brothers, John Hughs and Marion Hughs both of Trenton; 3 sisters, Mary Allen of St. Charles, MO, Jessie Mae Beckwith and Joyce Zimm both of Topeka, KS; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James, Lester, and Arthur; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Kirk and Loma Hickman; and a granddaughter, Janessa Nicole Baker.
