Helen Lucille (McCombs) Abbey, an 80 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe, MO at 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Children’s Mercy and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Helen was born January 1, 1936 in Trenton, MO to Raymond and Mildred (Johnson) McCombs.  On April 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Keith E. Abbey in Trenton.  He preceded her in death on March 30, 2014.  Together they farmed most of their lives and Mrs. Abbey worked until her retirement from Carnation (Trenton Foods).
Surviving family members include her son, Michael Abbey and his wife Carole of Chillicothe, MO, granddaughters Crystal Bryant of Dawn, MO and Rachel Snider and husband Alan of Chillicothe, MO, great grandchildren Katelyn and Abbey Bryant, Audrey, Andrew and Aaron Snider, a sister Hildred Beverage and husband Bobby of Wichita, KS, a sister in law Irene Abbey of Shenandoah, IA, and many nieces and nephews.  Those preceding her in death include her parents and husband.

Such a kind, sweet, loving lady. She and my mom (Bonnie Stevens Page Baker) were half-sisters to Helen and Hildred. Mom always spoke so lovingly of their relationship, disregarding the half-sister label. They are together now. So sorry for such a great loss to the family left behind.
