Vennas Rose Strine, a 93 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Wright Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since the 22nd.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2010 at Resthaven Mortuary with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Jamesport Masonic Cemetery.
Vennas was born March 8, 1917 to Arthur K.and Eva Layson Chrisop near Jamesport, MO. She was married at her family home May 27, 1933 to Wilbur Oswell Strine He preceded her in death on May 21, 1996. They lived and farmed all their married life in Grundy County. She cooked at Rissler school for several years and loved volunteering at the Grundy County Senior Center meeting and greeting the folks as they came in.
Mrs. Strine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trenton and the Southside Farm Club.
Mrs. Strine is survived by a son, Bill Strine and his wife, Lynda of Trenton, MO; 2 grandchildren, Jim Strine and his wife, Diana of Roeland Park, KS, Jeanne Reinholz and her husband, Rick of Encinitas, CA; 3 great granddaughters, Carla Fitzpatrick, Sarah Schrag, and Portia Reinholz, 1 great grandson, Rio Reinholz; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Okla Fitzpatrick, and Sydney Fitzpatrick; 2 sisters including a twin, Venna Thompson of Trenton, and Betty Langford of Jamesport, MO, and a beloved niece, Allene Meinke of Camdenton, MO.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jay Strine, one great grandson, Brad Strine, and one great granddaughter, Kathryn Rose Reinholz.
