Charles E. Graham, an 80 year old resident of Trenton, MO passed away Thursday evening, November 25, 2010.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday from the Trenton Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorials to the Nazarene Church of Trenton. Military rites will be held at the memorial service. There is no visitation and the Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Graham was born on February 24, 1930 in Grundy County, MO near Brimson the son of John A. and Addie B. Griffith Graham. As a youngster he attended schools around Brimson and on March 24, 1948 he joined the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War and received a Distinguished Unit Citation, the Korean Service Ribbon with 5 Stars, The Occupational Medal of Japan, a Bronze Star and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. He was discharged on March 24, 1952 and returned to Trenton. On July 5, 1952 he was married to Donna Flo Allen at Trenton. After their marriage they had lived in Albuquerque, NM and Warsaw, MO for a short time before returning to Trenton to make their home. Mr. Graham was first employed as a sheet metal worker before he and Jim Coffman started Tri Way Electric Company which he worked at for 17 years before his retirement that allowed him to spend more time hunting and fishing. Charles’ greatest love was his family and church.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and a life member of the Joseph L. Norton Post 919 V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of the home; two sons; Rick and his wife Debbie Graham of Seattle, WA, and Jerry and his wife, Gina Graham of Trenton; one daughter, Susan and her husband Howard Moffitt of Trenton; 6 grandchildren, Jenny (Brad) Long, Kayla (Troy) Wehar, Matthew (Gentry) Moffitt, Larissa (Simon) Helm and John and Katie Graham and by two great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Long and Addisyn Wehar.
Besides his parents he was preceded by 2 brothers, Emmitt and Tom Graham.
