Ronald “Ron” McHargue, a 78 year old former Galt, MO resident passed away at 2:46 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Golden Years Nursing Home in Harrisonville, MO.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Open visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Resthaven Mortuary.
Mr. McHargue was born on July 28, 1937 in Spickard, MO the son of Otto and Imogene (Holloway) McHargue. He grew up in the Tindall and Spickard area. He was married to Phyllis Buckner on March 1, 1959 in Meadville, MO. He was a milk hauler from 1959 to 1988, working for Trenton Milk Plant, MFA and Producers Creamer in Chillicothe, and Mid America Dairy. He also had his own business of working on starters and alternators.  He was a member of the Freedom Point Church in Garden City, MO, Gideon International, and Electrical Rebuilders Association.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Phyllis of Creighton, MO; daughters, Tammy  McHargue of Holland, MI, Toni Long and her husband, Scott of Battlefield, MO, and Tina Reese and her husband, Mark of Anthem, AZ; sisters, Marilyn Birdsong of Overland, MO and Lois Allison of Eugene, OR; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hoselton, Robin Chambers and her husband, Jeremy, Laura Reese, and Kimberly Reese; great grandchildren, Gavin and Paige Chambers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James “Bud” McHargue; sisters, Lucille Birdsong, Dorothy McHargue, and Carol Stottlemyre; and a half brother, Charles Browning.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gideon International or the Freedom Point Church, they may be left at or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
