Dorothy Johnson, an 81 year old Trenton, MO resident, died at 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton, with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Thursday evening. Memorial donations are suggested to the First Christian Church of Trenton, and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 4, 1933 in Adair County, MO the daughter of Kenneth and Opha (Peavler) Barry. She graduated from Bucklin High School in 1951 and on June 10, 1951 she was married to Cloyace Johnson in Bucklin, MO. She enjoyed time with her family, attending grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities and babysitting them anytime she could have them. Dorothy also enjoyed decorating cakes and sewing. She worked as a school secretary at S.M. Rissler Elementary School for 37 years, retiring in June of 2003.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for several years. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving relatives include her son Richard Johnson and his wife Brenda of Tindall, MO a daughter Karen Sager and her husband Don of Trenton, a brother Everett Barry and his wife Carol of Kearney, MO; four grandchildren, Kelli Urton and her husband Robert, Casey Johnson and his wife Shanna, Craig Sager and his wife Megan and Cary Sager;seven great grandchildren, Kadyn and Kean Urton, Colten, Braxten and Langsten Johnson, and Bradyn and Graeme Sager, two nieces, two nephews, an aunt and several cousins.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, and a brother Clifford Barry.

I was so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was a wonderful person and a dear friend. I was sorry I was unable to attend her service, but my health would not allow. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I remember Mrs. Johnson well, what a kind and loving lady. She was a dear friend of my mother's from days at S.M.Rissler and at First Christian. My thoughts are with the Johnson families.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Johnson. She was a big help to my dad while he was principal and she always had such a wonderful smile on her face! Rissler would certainly not have been as fun or as welcoming without Mrs. Johnson. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
