Arthur Lee Hughs “Pappy”, an 83 year old resident of Trenton, passed away at 11:23 a.m. on September 6, 2015 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A scheduled visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Resthaven, general visitation hours will start at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Coon Creek Cemetery, following military graveside rites.
Mr. Hughs was born on March 14, 1932 in Brimson, MO the son of Samp Sherman and Lula Mae (Walker) Hughs. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was married to Rosanna Willard on November 11, 1951 in Bentonville, AR. He retired from Trenton Foods.
He is survived by his wife, Rosanna Hughs of Trenton, MO; 2 sons, Randy Hughs and his wife, Jo of Trenton, MO; and Michael Hughs of Trenton, MO; a daughter, Vickie Flowers and her husband, Harmon of Brimson, MO; 3 brothers, John Hughs, Marion Hughs, and Gilbert Hughs all of Trenton, MO; 3 sisters, Mary Allen of St. Charles, MO, Jessie Mae Beckwith and Joyce Zimm both of Topeka, KS; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many other loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twins; a son Terry Hughs; a grandson, Phillip Flowers; 2 brothers, James Hughs and Lester Hughs; and 2 sisters, Loma Hickman and Elizabeth Kirk.
