Loma Hughs Hickman, a 99 year old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center, died at 12:55 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the nursing home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015 at Resthaven Mortuary north of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 7 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hickman was born August 30, 1915 near Melbourne in Grundy County the daughter of Samp Sherman and Bertha Florence (Colwell) Hughs. She attended Brimson and Melbourne schools. In March of 1935 she was united in marriage to Asa Goldsby. Loma worked for Trenton Foods and Morris Taxi Service before owning and operating a City Cab in Trenton. She was married to Hobert Hickman in September of 1971. She was a Pentecostal and believed deeply in the Lord.
Mrs. Hickman is survived by three daughters; Dixie Berger of Princeton, MO, Carolyn Robbins and her husband Lawrence of Fowler, IL and Sarah Barnes of Trenton, three sisters Mary Allen of St. Charles, MO, Jessie Beckwith of Topeka, KS and Joyce Zinn of Topeka, KS, four brothers, Arthur Hughs, John Hughs, Marion Hughs and Gilbert Hughs all of Trenton, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, husband, two brothers, Lester and James Hughs, a sister Elizabeth Kirk, two grandchildren, Theresa Berger and Christina Miller, and two great-great grandchildren, Addison Gudde and Clinton Daniels.
