James Lee Brown a 71 year old Melbourne resident, passed away at 9:50 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2015.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Melbourne Baptist Church in Melbourne, MO. Burial will follow in the Mitchel Cemetery in Melbourne. A visitation will be held from 1:00 until service time Thursday at the church. Open visitation will begin Wednesday morning at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Memorial donations are welcomed to the funeral home for burial costs.
James Lee Brown was born August 27, 1943 in Trenton, MO to Elmer and Francis (Dole) Brown. In 1962 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Brown in Newtown, MO where they lived until their divorce. Jim lived in a few places including Ravenwood, MO where he ran a maintainer for 20 years before finally settling in Melbourne, MO in 1993. He enjoyed time spent outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving relatives include his 9 children Tammy Kopec of Kansas City, MO, Cindy Flowers of Bethany, MO, Debby Linboom of Bethany, Duane Brown and his significant other Tara McCloud of Princeton, MO, Mary Smiddy and her husband Charles of Rush Springs, OK, Jimmy Lee Brown and his significant other Cara McCloud of Brimson, Dawn McAfee and her husband Lance of Gilman City, MO, Rebecca Sperry of Gilman City, and Jody Brown of Gilman City, 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, a sister Beverly Burke and a grandson Dakota Newton.
