Phyllis R. Masters Orr, 91, of Kansas City and formerly Trenton, MO, peacefully passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at the NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City.
A private family burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to either the NorthCare Hospice House, Kansas City or the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be left at whitakereads.com.
Phyllis Orr was born October 26, 1923 in Nodaway County, MO to Ted H. and Mamie (Nowland) Wright. She graduated from Graham High School with the class of 1941. In 1942 she was united in marriage to George Masters. He preceded her in death 1976. In 1984 she was remarried to William Orr. He also passed away in 1996. Phyllis was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, Belton, MO. She retired from the Marine Corps Finance Center in Kansas City. She will be remembered as a strong, loving and amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Surviving relatives include her children Georgia (Robert) Tunnell of Kansas City, MO, James (Mary) Masters of St. Joseph, MO, Jane (Dennis) Phillips of Urbandale, IA, Peggy (Dick) Clear of Belton, MO, Roger (Maria) Masters of Miami, FL and Kevin (Janet) Masters of Cottage Grove, WI, a step sister Christine Punzo of Maryville, MO, 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husbands, a son John David Masters and a step sister Ruth Garrett.
