Hope T. Crawford, a 96 year old Trenton resident, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. An open visitation will begin Wednesday at Resthaven Mortuary . Memorial contributions are suggested to the South Evans Cemetery and can be left or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
She was born April 22, 1918 east of Tindall, the daughter of Hugh Barnard and Anna (Briegel) Terry. She graduated from Trenton High School, attended Trenton Junior College and Kirksville Teachers’ College. She taught in rural schools for six years.
On August 8, 1943 she married Donald T. Crawford at Princeton, MO. They farmed in the rural Trenton area, moving into Trenton in 1962 when Donald became County Clerk. He preceded her in death in 1972. She was a member of Trenton First Christian Church, where she served as financial secretary for 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Hunt and husband Ron, Bethany, MO; sister, Mrs. Ruth (Terry) Cooper, Chillicothe, MO; daughter-in-law, Wanda Crawford, Raymore, MO; grandchildren, Shon Crawford and wife, Keely, Gilbert, AZ; Carrie Crawford, El Segundo, CA; Corey Hunt, Maryville, MO, and Jamie Hunt and wife, Erin, Lee’s Summit, MO; step-granddaughters, Brooke (Hank) Nickles and husband, Hank, Raymore, MO, and Jami Burns, Kailua, HI; and 5 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Crawford, Trenton, MO; and JoAnn Bernier, Gladstone, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Carroll Lynn Crawford; sister, Louise Willis and brothers, David, Judson, and Webster Terry.

My prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss. Hope was a wonderful person and a beautiful lady. My time as associate pastor at First Christian Church was enriched by having her as part of the congregation. The world is a little dimmer with the lost of her sweet smile.

I'm so sorry in Hope's passing we have loss a lady with a pretty smile. She always gave me a smile when we saw each other & in saying good-bye she gave me a smile to take with me. She was a pretty lady & I enjoyed visiting with her. Donna Whitt
