Johann Kirk, a 75 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 5:15 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at her residence where she was under hospice care.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Edinburg Baptist Church in Edinburg, MO.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Monday evening at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested to either the Edinburg Baptist Church or the D.A.W.G.S. and may be mailed or left with the funeral home.

Johann Corrine Kirk was born, March 31, 1939 in Pennsylvania to George and Ann Goodman.  She graduated from Trenton High School and on December 7, 1957 she was united in marriage to Lyle Wilson Kirk.  They ran a dairy farm until 1994.  Johann also worked in the assessor’s office in the Grundy County Courthouse.  Johann and Lyle were active members of the Edinburg Baptist Church where Johann was the children’s church teacher for several years.  She was also active with special needs groups, coaching for Special Olympics and working with the local D.A.W.G.S. group.

Surviving relatives include her daughter Linda Kirk of Chillicothe, sons Stephen Kirk and his wife Joyce of Chula, MO and Kevin Kirk and his wife Patti of Laredo, MO, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, a son Stanley Lyle and brothers Bud and George Goodman.

To my cousins I am so sorry for your loss. I am going to miss Aunt Johann greatly. She was a beautiful human being inside and out. I love you all and hope you can find some comfort during this very difficult time.

Mama...you were and are such a beautiful lady...I will never forget your smile. We had so many laughs together..sorry I was in prison when you passed away..I will visit you soon. I Love you and just know that you and that handsome husband of yours are in heaven loving one another. You were a great role model to me.
