Mildred Hammond, a 75 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home of Trenton where she had been since September 8, 2010.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.  A scheduled visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.

Mrs. Hammond was born on July 28, 1935 in Hermitage, MO the daughter of Bonnie and Osie Reed Walker.  She graduated from Laredo High School and lived all her adult life in Trenton.  She was married to Morris Hammond and they owned and operated the Morris Cab Company.  Morris preceded her in death in July 3, 1995.  She was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by a daughter, Stormy Johnson and husband, Paul of Trenton, MO; a son, Martin Russell and his wife, Nedra of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Veda Stuart and her husband, Norman of Trenton, MO; 2 brothers, L.J. Walker of Apache Junction, AZ and Roy Walker and his wife, Patricia of Holden, MO; a step son, Doug  Hammond and his wife, Yuko of Independence, MO; a step daughter, Beverly Fowler of Lees’ Summit, MO; and 2 granddaughters, Jessie Hammond and Rachel Morrison.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Carl Walker; and a sister, Velma Clark.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Wright Memorial Hospice, these can be left at or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO  64683

i am vey sorry for your loss mildred will be deeply missed i reaaly am glad i got to know her and take care of her at sunnyview, she touched my heart in a kind way , ireally enjoyed visiting with her and making her smile i looked forward to seeing her when i worked on the station. to her family god bless you all, and i will pray for you all.

I am very sorry for the loss of Mildred. She was a very sweet lady and I know she will be greatly missed. I will keep you in my prayers!
