Norman R. Borders, 82, of Trenton, passed away at 6:15 PM on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at River of Life United Pentecostal Church of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Open visitation will begin after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and all day Friday, with a scheduled family visitation held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.
Mr. Borders was born on December 2, 1931 in St. Louis, MO the son of Herman and Edith (Vaughn) Borders. He was married to Sylvia Bradley on January 13, 1951 in Pocahontas, AR. He attended Cleveland High School in St. Louis. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a manager of waste oil refinery at Deffenbaugh for 14 years. He was a police officer at Excelsior Springs, MO and volunteer police officer in North Kansas City, MO. He was employed with MODOT for 10 years and was a security guard at Modine for 5 years, winning the guard of the month. He was a member of the River of Life United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Borders of Trenton; daughters, Edith Parish of Fredericksburg, VA and Cynthia Calivere and husband, John of Trenton; sons, Norman Borders Jr. and wife Kathryn of Baytown, TX, Phillip Borders and wife, Judy of Trenton, Robert D. Borders of Trenton, and Joshua Borders and wife, Tiffany of Trenton; brothers, Robert G. Borders and wife Nancy of St. Louis, MO and Phillip Borders of Glendale, AZ; 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and brother in law, James Huegenin of St. Louis, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and infant granddaughter; 2 sister in laws; 2 brother in laws; and son in law Richard Parish.
