Leon Hubble, an 81 year old resident of Galt, MO passed away at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 05, 2014 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Galt Christian Church. Burial will be in the Rural Dale Cemetery east of Trenton. Open visitation will begin Tuesday afternoon at Payne Funeral Home of Galt. Memorial donations may be made to the Show Me Christian Youth Home and left or mailed to the funeral home.
Leon Hubble was born March 28, 1933 to George W. and Emma (Schmidt) Hubble, on a farm 4 miles south of Humphreys, MO. He attended Herbert Grade School before graduating from Trenton High School and Business College at Chillicothe. From April 1953 through March 1955 he served in the United States Army in the Heavy Artillery Unit in Korea. Since 1963 he farmed and lived west of Galt. On November 19, 1988 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Gomez in Trenton. Leon was a member of the Galt Christian Church where he served as an elder for many years as well as taught Sunday school. He also served on the board of directors for Production Credit Association and the Farm Credit Association.
Surviving relatives include his wife Mary Ann of the Home, a sister Lois Cox and husband Joe of Topeka, KS, nieces Marti Anderson and her husband La Roy of Novi MI and Margaret Jarvis of Topeka, KS. Great nieces and nephews; Julie Cundy and her husband Chris of Livonia, MI, Katie Jarvis of Manhattan, KS, and Evan and William Cundy of Livonia, MI as well as many cousins, friends and neighbors.
Those preceding him in death include his parents.
