Earl Dean Holt, an 80 year old rural Trenton resident, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at his home where he was under hospice care.
The body was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Hodge Presbyterian Church of Trenton. Rev. Barry Robinson will officiate. A reception will follow the service in the church's Fellowship Room.
Mr. Holt was born on August 12, 1930 in Princeton, MO the son of Schuyler and Rosa Browning Holt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was married to Shirley Limes on June 12, 1955 in Trenton, MO. After 25.5 years, he retired from Trenton Foods, and also worked at Muff's Bakery, Wurlitzer Piano Factory in DeKalb, IL, and farmed.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; a daughter, Sandi Williams and her husband, David of Trenton, MO; 2 brothers, Calvin Holt of DeKalb, IL and Charles Lee Holt of Lebanon, MO; and 2 sisters, Clara Rose Cowden of Kansas City, MO and Doris Mae Reedy of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Loyd and Herman Holt; and a sister, Velma Mattson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hodge Presbyterian Church.
