Olathe, KS resident, formally of Parkville, MO and Humphreys, MO, 84 year old Oma Faye Rinehart, passed away at 6:30 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Homestead North of Olathe in Olathe, KS. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Barry Christian Church in Kansas City, MO, with a visitation an hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will take place at the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys, MO at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Alzheimer’s Association or The American Cancer Society and can be mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO 64683.
Oma was born on May 14, 1930 in Humphreys, MO to J.D. and Gladys (Sharp) Tipton. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Rinehart on April 19, 1947 at The First Christian Church in Trenton, MO. Together Jim and Oma ran a general store in Humphreys and a motel in Waverly, MO. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Firestone. Oma enjoyed square dancing with the Silver Shoes, traveling, and listening to big band music.
Oma is survived by her daughter Anita Hanson of Lenexa, KS and a granddaughter Stephanie Holzer and husband Steve of St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
